Clarksburg, July 18, 2023 – Excitement is building as United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties and Hart Kitchen announces its upcoming event, Heroes and Kids taking place on August 13th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Jackson Square. This unique event brings together 10 local First Responders and children from the Healthy Granfamilies program for a friendly cooking competition, all under the expert guidance of renowned local chef, Anne Hart.
This event will feature teams of First Responders and children working together to cook the best meal, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity. With the support and guidance of Chef Anne Hart, the participants will be preparing a delicious Minestrone Style Summer Harvest Soup, serving up to four people, accompanied by Grilled French Demi Baguette.
The locally sourced ingredients for this delectable dish will be provided by Santa Croce Farm, owned by David and Martha Lester, ensuring only the freshest produce is used in the meal preparation.
“Anne Hart is as passionate about helping her community as she is about teaching her craft so this event is a perfect way for her to marry the two. We are so blessed that she thought of us as the beneficiaries,” said Aimeé Comer, UWHDC Fundraising & Community Development Director. “And the enthusiasm from the first responders that have signed on has been awesome!”
