While I should be busy getting ready for all the activities coming up this weekend, I just had to chisel out a few hours to read a book. Of course, it had to be by my favorite author, Danielle Steel. I was at a meeting at the Clarksburg Library and my good friend, Julia Todd found this book and it was in large print. The title of the book was Without A Trace. I finished it in an afternoon of reading. The book kind of reminded me of how I may have felt several times in my life. I will not go into detail about the story but I do recommend you reading it. A beautiful story that will remind us of our lives at one point or another.
My friend, Jeannie McNabb sent me Prince Harry’s book, Spare. I hope to read it soon and will report it back to you.
This Sunday the Immaculate Conception Church bulletin reported that starting this week a Spanish mass will be held in the church every week at 9:15. We had been holding a monthly mass but demand reflected that we hold it weekly. We have been assigned two Spanish nuns and our priest, Father Paul will conduct the mass. There is really a large Spanish population in our area and I am so happy our church is furnishing them their need. For more information call the church office.
While growing up in East View, I enjoyed the friendship of the Cutlip family. Betty was my age and we went through school together. She had a brother Homer who went to,school with Fray Queen. Recently I was able to reconnect with Betty through her daughter who was employed at the F O P. I have been enjoying their company at the Farmers Market where they have a booth. This week I came home with a jar of jalapeño jelly. It was so delicious. I got some Ritz crackers, spread some cream cheese on them and added a little jelly. What a wonderful treat. I hope you will visit the market this Saturday and get you a jar of jelly.
My son, Michael met up with the owner of Rollins Market and he happened to tell him how much I enjoy their Italian sausage. They have a great selection of peppers for canning and a little cheaper than other places. While talking he happened to tell Michael about this device he had. It is a pepper corer. It has a device for bell peppers and one for banana peppers. Will plan on using it when I can my peppers. By the way it will soon be mushroom time.
I want to compliment the WVIHF committee. I feel the festival is coming back. I especially want to congratulate the three children of Annie and Louie Pishner. Stephan, Diane and Anna have continued to support the festival. Their parents would be so proud of them.
Just a reminder that the word is that we are going to have a bad flu season. Please check with your doctor about the flu shot. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other.
Get ready for fall, stay safe, look out for the school kids and until next week “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
