Activity at the Shinnston Ferguson City Park bocce courts has ended for 2023. The Late Summer League ended with the winners being the team of Marsha Duckworth, Pam Gemondo, David DeCosta, and Katie Alvaro.
In second place was the foursome of Lou Belcastro, Lacy Allen, Jeff Swiger, and a substitute. Joe Skelley’s team and Stan Gaston’s team tied for a third place position.
On Saturday, Aug 19, the two-man tourney was held with the duo of David DeCosta and Jeff Swiger being the champs. Second place belonged to William West and Drew Bates. In third position was Joe and Andrea Skelley.
On Saturday Sept 30, Drew Bates was the winner of the one on one battle. He edged out Lou Del Rio. Jeff Swiger placed third.
Starting next year for 2024, the two-man tourney will be called the two on two tournament.
In mid-April, we will begin the 2024 Spring league, followed by the Summer League.
