Marshall R. “Bucky” Booth, 77, of Worthington, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 12, 1946 a son of the late Glenn E. Booth and Jessie A. Hess Booth.
Buck, as he was called by his family and friends, loved life up to the end. His spiritual belief that he would be healed has come to pass. HE is walking those streets of Glory.
He started his life out as a young adult. He told the story of having his first apartment and first job at age 14. Bucky worked as a short order cook back in the day at several of the fine restaurants in Fairmont such as the Palace Restaurant, SayBoys Restaurant, and the Continental Room of the Parkette Restaurant in Bellview. He later made his way into working as an auto mechanic. A good one people would say. And then went into becoming an A-1 carpenter. This is where he found his true passion, building. He assisted on jobs such as church parsonages, fellowship halls, low income apartments, and other beautiful homes in the area. Bucky was last employed by Hess Remodeling where he was forced to retire on disability following an injury.
Bucky is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Jean Kennedy Booth. He was her beau for two years before their marriage. Also surviving is his son, Daniel L. Booth and his wife Lisa Sabo Booth of Worthington; two grandchildren, Hannah Danielle Bufkin and her husband Zach of Charleston, SC; and Daniel L. Booth of Monongah.
He is also survived by one sister, whom he loved dearly, Charlotte Ann Barta Robinson of Idamay; his brothers-in-law, William Jesse “Ugg” Kennedy, Jr.; and Steve Barta, Sr. of Idamay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bucky was preceded in death by two baby sons, John Michael and Marshall Ray Booth; his brother, Glen “Junie” Booth; his brother-in-law, Bob Dixon; and his sister-in-law, Bertha Kennedy Wilson.
