The Harrison County athletes in the spotlight this week are Lincoln’s Ashlyn Riley and Bridgeport’s Landon Sanders.
Cougar basketball standout Ashlyn Riley was impressive in a pair of games this past week. Riley scored 25 points, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked two shots in Monday’s loss to St. Mary’s. The next night, Riley led her team to a win over Buckhannon-Upshur. She scored a game-high 26 points, had four steals, and dished out three assists.
Bridgeport Indian basketball player Landon Sanders helped his team to a huge win over cross town rival Robert C. Byrd last Friday. Sanders scored a game high 18 points in the affair with 12 of them coming in the second half.
