The WVYWA states were held at the Charleston Civic Center on February 24 and 25..
Shinnston had eight wrestlers that participated. All eight were part of the Clarksburg Panthers youth team. The team had two Champions, Jace Poe 12u 65 who is a 6th grader at Lincoln Middle school and is now a two time state champion. Nick Glaspell MS 123, an 8th grader at Lincoln Middle School earned his third state title.
Others who placed include Bearett Miker 6u 50 placed 4th and is a 1st grader at Big Elm Elementary school, River Miker 10u 80 and is a fourth grader at Big Elm Elementary school placed 3rd, Silas Raines 12u 95 is a 7th grader at Lincoln Middle School and placed 6th and Cade Mooney MS 128 is a eighth grader at Lincoln Middle School and placed 7th.
Those who attended but did not place are Cameron Glaspell 10u 80 who is a 5th grader at Big Elm Elementary school and Ranger Poe MS 145 and is a 8th grader at Lincoln Middle School.
This was the last year that the eighth graders can wrestle for this state title.
