American Legion Auxiliary Unit 31, Shinnston held a covered-dish dinner at 6:00 pm followed at 7:00 pm by the installation of officers for the 2024-2025 Auxiliary year on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at American Legion Post 31. Roxie Nicholson, past Department President, American Legion Auxiliary Department of West Virginia, performed the installation. Officers for the coming year are Andrea Skelley, Unit 31 President; Marsha Duckworth, 1st Vice President; Carla Wilfong, 2nd Vice President; Margaret Yost, Secretary; Roxie Nicholson, Treasurer; Karen Flanigan and Kim Mellie, Sergeants-at-Arms; Dortha Parsons, Historian and Betsy Turner, Chaplain.
During the regular meeting highlights of the 102nd Convention and upcoming events were discussed. It was announced that the next Juniors meeting would be at 6:00 pm on August 15, 2024, prior to the regular meeting. Anyone having a junior member in their family is encouraged to bring them to their meeting. It’s sure to be an hour of fun and learning.
