Tee It Up!

This week’s edition of “Tee It Up” focuses on a legend in the Mountain State, the Cobb Course located at The Resort at Glade Springs. Named after its designer and architect, George Cobb, this pillar of the golf community consistently ranks in the top five in the state on a yearly basis.

This beast ranges 7,121 yards from the back tees, coupled with other tee options designed to test golfers of all skill levels. The contour of this traditional tract provides over 200 feet of elevation changes which not only shows off the natural beauty, but also helps to flex its muscle at the same time.

Why go to the beach when you can visit the Cobb Course? If it’s sand you’re after, it can be had just outside of Beckley in the 51 bunkers located in the fairway and guarding the lightning fast greens. There are eight lakes with knee-knocking views that set up natural road blocks designed to increase your score and blood pressure at the same time.

Prior to your round, a top-shelf practice facility and a pro-shop that is manned by a friendly and knowledgeable staff set you up for a perfect day on the links. The 19th hole allows for an inside/outside option with great food and beverage. If you are not careful, you might meet someone famous. Glade Springs is home to several important people.

The best part of this resort is once you are on site, you don’t have to leave. Swimming pools, a hot tub, bowling alley, basketball court, fire pit, and fantastic food options make Glade Springs a true golf destination.
