Rebecca Sue O’Dell

Rebecca Sue O’Dell, 71, of Mannington, passed away on September 24, 2024 at United Hospital Center.  She was born on June 29, 1953 in Clarksburg to the late Carl Robert Taylor and Betty Elizabeth (Elliott) Taylor.

Rebecca loved doing hair and worked as a beautician.  She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her dogs and especially time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Ray O’Dell, whom she married on December 10, 1971; two daughters:  Renee Stark and husband James of Haywood and Melissa Dawn Coffman of Wyatt; two grandsons:  Jonathan Coffman and wife Grace and Justin Coffman and wife Kennedy; one granddaughter, Carly Duckworth and boyfriend Hale Keener; one great granddaughter, Ellayna Grace Coffman; four sisters:  Brenda Davisson of Clarksburg, Jacqueline Prunty of Anmoore, Judith Kirtner of Charleston and Mary Ann Evans of Columbus, OH; two brothers:  James Taylor and wife Sharon of Akron, OH and David Taylor of Canton, OH; one sister in law, Becky O’Dell of Shinnston as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter Duckworth; two brothers:  Carl Taylor and Robert Taylor; one sister, Delores Costello and her mother in law, Ruth O’Dell.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jeff Stire officiating.  Interment to follow to Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.

Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the O’Dell family.
