Betty Jo McIntire, 91, of Monongah, walked into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Fairmont Regional Medical Facility. She was born June 29, 1933 in Rowlesburg, WV, a daughter of the late Lester Francis and Arlie Mae Robinson Rogers.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dale S. McIntire, on November 3, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her son, Shannon Braid McIntire; as well as her infant brother, David Rogers; and her brother, Claude Rogers.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy R. McIntire of Morgantown; Lilah Lynn Maditz and her husband Dana of Clarksburg; and Crystal G. Stutler and her husband Randy of Stonewood; her grandchildren, David Benjamin Knight and his companion, Jessy Stark; Joshua Thomas Sailor; Kayla Marie Campbell; Braiden James McIntire; Adrianna Wright; those who she considered her grandchildren, William “Bill” Reed; and Carly Vogler and her husband Michael; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Dale Campbell; Kiley Jo Campbell; and Lea’lou and Lucian Knight; and her great-great-grandchildren, Evalaiyah Adele and Ethan Ryan Merryman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty loved her grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as “Grammy”. She also loved her dog “Shiloh”. Betty enjoyed reading, especially her favorite book, her Bible. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 91: 11 – 12. She also enjoyed puzzle books, making ceramics; watching QVC and sitting outside enjoying nature.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Thursday from 5-8pm and on Friday from 10am- 12:30pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 13th, at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
