The Harrison County Genealogical Society and Clarksburg History Museum are accepting
applications from county seniors for a $1,000.00 scholarship towards college, technical school or trade school, etc.
The students must write an essay about their family genealogy. Applications can be picked up at your local high school. The essay should be a minimum of 500 words long and include information about several past generations.
If a pedigree chart (family tree) is included a 400-word essay will be acceptable. Deadline is April 30th.
The winner will be announced in May with a presentation at the Clarksburg History Museum.

Join the Clarksburg ‘First Friday’ event calendar on April 4, 2025, featuring a variety of activities including a city-wide Easter egg hunt, bonnet/easter hat contest, food preparation, live music, and vendor displays at the Harrison County Senior Citizens’ Center, along with tours of Waldomore and other local attractions.
