Carl Dale Hawkins, went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2025. He was born November 16, 1929 in Enterprise, WV, the son of the late William H and Eunice Johnson Hawkins. He was the husband of the late Lorraine Marie Brown Hawkins, in addition to his parents and his wife he is preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Pigott and Helen Hawkins, six brothers, Howard, Gale, Calvin, Allen, Jesse and Richard, one son, Dale T Hawkins, one daughter, Brenda Booker and one granddaughter, Laura Zahorak. He is survived by a sister, Gladys (Thural) Williams of Rosedale, WV, daughter, Doris (John) Brown of Myersville, MD, son, Carl Hawkins of Boca Raton, FL, two stepsons, John J Zahorak of Hawaii and Donald Zahorak of Cocoa, FL, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Hawkins graduated from Shinnston High School, Shinnston, WV class of 1948. He received a BS in Mathematics in 1960 from Fairmont State College and a MS degree in Mathematics in 1961 from WV University. He had worked as a florist, as a machinist, in the coal mines of WV, as an instructor at Fairmont State College, he also worked for NASA in Greenbelt, MD before spending 25 years at various locations of International Business Machines, where he retired in 1991 from IBM as a Senior Systems Engineer. He is a member of St Johns Lodge #24 F&AM in Shinnston, WV and a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church in Newport, TN.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2025, between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.perinefunerals.com
