Judy Jenette Orr, 80, of Wallace, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at United Hospital Center. She was born in Wallace on September 3, 1944 to the late Giddis Clark Shaw and Pauline Lillian (Barker) Shaw.
Judy was a member of First Baptist Church of Wallace. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, loved playing bingo and cards, sitting out on her porch petting her deer, volunteering within her community and most of all … cookouts and time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children: one son: Daniel A. Orr of Wallace; two daughters: Renee J. Orr of Wallace and Becky L. Batton and husband Jacob of Wallace, she also raised her granddaughter, Cheyenne Batton of Wallace; her grandchildren: William “Billy” and wife Candy of Fairmont, Robert “Bobby” Adams and wife Stacey of Clarksburg and Ryan Adams and companion Ashley; her great grandchildren: Rylan, Corbin, Trenton, RJ, Levi, Ariana, Ryanna, Aden, and Angel Adams; her step grandson, Larry “Dustin” Saunders and step great granddaughter, April Saunders; siblings: Mary Bennett of Wallace, Martha Glassock of Canton, OH, Truman “Butch” Shaw and wife Carol of East Canton, OH and Berle “Bub” Shaw of Clarksburg and special family members: Ruth Sendling, who was like a daughter, Dave Bennett and companion Joyce Luchuck and Larry and Debbie Bennett.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edgar A. Orr; a special daughter in law, Doris J. Orr and siblings: George Shaw, Robert “Bob” Shaw, Nettie, Charlotte and Sue Shaw.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at United Hospital Center for the care they provided.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 2:00pm – 8:00pm and on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 9:00am until 11:00am, time of service, with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Interment to follow at Wallace Lions Cemetery.
