With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Carol Jean (Parrish) Pierce, 86, of Fairmont, on October 1, 2025. She was born in Clarksburg on September 7, 1939 to the late Charles Fredrick Parrish and Ada (Gurley) Parrish.
Carol worked for Stone & Thomas as a custodian as well as the Enterprise UMC Church and was a member of the Enterprise UMC Church. She enjoyed cleaning homes and yard sales. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and treasured friend. Carol was the kindest soul, she didn’t know a stranger and had friends from all walks of life. She lived her life with a heart full of love and kindness. Her faith in God was unmeasured. To know her was to know a form of compassion and love that we don’t find often in others. She found her greatest love and joy in her family.
She is survived by her two sons: Bernie Pierce and wife Melissa of Morgantown and Leo Pierce and wife Danielle of Carolina; two daughters: Vicki Chrislip and husband Butch of Idamay and Rosalie Larimore and husband Tom of Fairmont; grandchildren: Rachel Hardesty, Rickie Huffman, Jenna and Riley Pierce, Logan Pierce, Jacob Larrimore and fiancé Katie McKenzie; great grandchildren: Cannon Larimore and Adaleigh Hardesty; one brother, John Michael Parrish of Clarksburg and one sister in law, Joyce Parrish of Clarksburg.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Pierce; one daughter, Mabel Holly Huffman; five brothers: Charles Pete Parrish, Edgar David Parrish, Paul Dean Parrish, Victor Allen Parrish and Daniel Selkirk Parrish; two sisters: Shirley Ann Roberts and Nancy Lee Sandy and two sisters in law: Arwilla Parrish and Bobbie Jane Parrish.
The family would like to thank WVU Hospice Nurses and her caregivers for their wonderful and loving care of Carol. Her warm and loving soul will deeply be missed but never forgotten.
In keeping with her wishes, Carol will be cremated.
