William “Ed” Bennett

William “Ed” Bennett of Shinnston passed away on October 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. Ed was born on September 7, 1959 to Doretha Mayle. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife Robin Bennett of 34 years of marriage; his daughters Emily (Sam) Fisher of Shinnston, and Halie  (Brandon) Corley of Shinnston; his adoring grandchildren Owen Fisher, Ava Fisher, Wren Fisher, Barrett Corley, and Brewer Corley. Also survived by his mother, Doretha Mayle and siblings Brad (Sandy) Bennett, Jim (Lorrie) Bennett, Dave (Patty) Bennett, Tina (Bruce) Martin and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ed was employed by Airgas for 24 years as a hardworking and loyal truck driver and once retired he enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter who loved being outdoors. Ed loved riding his motorcycle and daylong trips. He savored time at his camp around the fire with his family and friends. Ed could always be found sitting on his porch or in his garage talking to neighbors, friends, or playing with his grandchildren. Ed was an active member and past master at the St. John’s Masonic Lodge #24 A.F. & A.M and was a Scottish Rite member.  He holds a special place in everyone’s heart and will be forever missed.

Family and friends will be received on Monday November 3, 2025 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike Street Shinnston, WV 26431. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2025 at 11:00am. Ed will receive a Masonic burial and additional services will be officiated by Paul Owens.
