Due to the generosity of Scott and Mary Childers the PWA will be offering a collection of plates by PWA to be sold at the Farmers Market craft show. This is a collection of 34 plates that Mrs. Sandra Childers collected prior to her death. The plates were onchilder the by to be used as a fundraiser for a general project.

The collection contains 34 plates. Included in the collection, are plates depicting scenes from Gone With the Wind. Several Elvis Presley plates, a collection of bear scenes, a Beauty and the Beast plate and a large collection of cottages. There are several other plates included in the collection.

Of special interest is the lead glass plates included in the Michael Yates Country Ladies collection. Angelica, was the first plate in his series. The plates are carved in full 25 percent lead crystal. These plates came from Morgantown Crystal company, which is still in business.

There are three plates containing different scenes of horses that would be on a Merry Go Round. The plate also contains a music box which plays the popular tunes featured on a merry go round ride. Several of the cottage plates include a light.

You must see this collection to appreciate their beauty. The bear plates would make a beautiful decorative addition to any man’s den or at a country cabin.

Each plate contains its certificate of authenticity. The plates remain in the original containers. They were shipped in and many of them even contained white gloves that were provided to be used in handling the plate. These plates would make a wonderful gift for someone special. I hope you will come out and see this collection

The show will be at the Uptown Event Center, which is located at 305 Washington Ave. The hours of the show are from 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock. The date is Saturday, November 22.

Stay healthy and get ready to enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday and until nek week “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
