It’s that time once again to acknowledge the efforts of Harrison County’s student-athletes. Each week we review the performances of the athletes from the six schools (Bridgeport, Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd, and South Harrison) in our county.
The Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athlete of the Week award is an avenue to promote the youth of our county while bringing attention to their athletic accomplishments.
The Harrison County athletes in the spotlight this week ar Robert C. Byrd’s Kendall Sturm and Logan Boyce.
Flying Eagle basketball standout Kendall Sturm netted a game high 22 rebounds and pulled down a team-high five rebounds in a setback to Capital High School.
Flying Eagle Logan Boyce helped his squad to a couple of big wins last week. Boyce scored 20 points, including four three-pointers, in a victory over Fairmont Senior. Boyce scored 12 versus Doddridge County. Six of those came in the final 2:30 including a game-tying three and a good “ahead-to-stay” two-pointer.
Congratulations to Robert C. Byrd’s kendall Sturm and Logan Boyce for shining bright in the Sn and HCJ spotlight!
