Raymond “Doug” Douglass Hutson, 89, of Wallace, passed away after a long illness on January 25, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Doddridge County on November 23, 1936 to the late Raymond Hutson and Alma (Hyde) Hutson.

Doug served his country in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis Era. He was employed by Harrison County Board of Education for 37 years, retiring in 1998. Although Doug did not have a surviving brother, he considered Joe Bishop to be a brother in his heart.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Diana Hutson; his daughter, Kimberly (Hutson) Wilfong and husband Timothy of Clarksburg; one grandson, Benjamin Atlas and wife Stephanie of Ft. Collins, CO; one granddaughter, Julianne Stump and husband Cody of Clarksburg and great granddaughter, Piper Jean of Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy and husband Johnny Bissett and one brother, Dale Hutson. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Diana, his wife, would like to thank the following people for their assistance and the care they gave: Debby Stout, Joe Bishop, Tillman Gifford, Elwood McDaniel and Matthew Gump. She would also like to thank Brenda Talkington and Brenice Nichols for their friendship, prayers and support given to her in this difficult period.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
Wallace Fire Department
PO Box 216
Wallace, WV 26448

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 11:00AM until time of service, 2:00PM with daughter Kimberly (Hutson) Wilfong officiating. In honoring his wishes, Doug will be cremated.

Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Hutson family.
