After the program at the Cultural Center, WV Advocacy Day Participants were divided into groups to be recognized in the gallery and visit with legislators in their respective offices. After lunch, the group visited with House Minority Leader Delegate Sean Hornbuckle, who shared his Alzheimer’s personal story. Other group members shared their stories and walk day experiences. Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day provides a tremendous opportunity for citizen advocates to meet with their legislators in the Capitol.
Alzheimer’s and other dementia costs WV Medicaid over a half billion dollars annually and affects 115,000 West Virginians aged 45+ and their 250,000 caregivers who provide unpaid care.
