Harrison County Schools Announces Kindergarten Registration for 2026–2027

Harrison County Schools is excited to welcome new kindergarten students for the 2026–2027 school year.

Children who will be 5 years old before July 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten.

Students who attended a Harrison County preschool program, including Head Start, Mother Goose, Lasting Impressions, or Cubby’s, do not need to register again for kindergarten.

Families should call their child’s school to schedule an appointment if one is required.

What to Bring to Registration

Families should bring the following items when registering their child:

• Certificate of Live Birth
  Parents can order a birth certificate at registration – $12.00 check or money order (made payable to the Office of Vital Registration) accepted. If child is currently enrolled in a Harrison County Pre-K, the school can provide to the parents a copy of the state issued birth certificate from the child’s file.

• Immunization Record
  Additional immunizations required since entering Pre-K.

• Well Child Exam Form
  (Dated within the last 365 days) or appointment card for upcoming visit. Address any health concerns with the school nurse at registration.

• Dental Exam Form
  (Dated within the last 365 days) or appointment card for upcoming visit.

• Two Proofs of Residency
