Commercial cattle slaughter totaled 779,000 pounds live weight, down 41 percent from February 2025. Cattle slaughter totaled 600 head, down 500 head from the previous year. The average live weight was up 75 pounds from the previous year, at 1,287 pounds.
Commercial hog slaughter totaled 106,000 pounds live weight, down 36 percent from February 2025. Hog slaughter totaled 400 head, down 100 head from the previous year. The average live weight was down 40 pounds from the previous year, at 267 pounds.
