It’s that time once again to acknowledge the efforts of Harrison County’s student-athletes. Each week we review the performances of the athletes from the six schools (Bridgeport, Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd, and South Harrison) in our county. The Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athlete of the Week award is an avenue to promote the youth of our county while bringing attention to their athletic accomplishments.

The Harrison County athletes in the spotlight this week are Lincoln’s Colton Edwards and Bridgeport’s Luke Rohrig.
Cougar baseball standout Colton Edwards had a great day in Lincoln’s loss to Ripley last week. Rohrig was two for four with a double and an RBI.
Indian baseball player Luke Rohrig had two multi hit games last week. Rohrig was four for six with a pair of doubles.
