Yesterday after returning from a mini vacation, I decided to review my emails, and I ran across this mail release from the National Italian American Foundation.
“The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Congressional Fellowship Program places outstanding Italian American college students and recent graduates in offices of members and associates of the Italian American Congressional Delegation (IACD) to educate and support the next generation of Italian American leadership.
“Upon acceptance to the program by NIAF and a successful interview with a Congressional office, NIAF will award fellows with a stipend of $1,500 during the course of their fellowship. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in exclusive NIAF Government Affairs Program events. While interning on Capitol Hill, the sponsoring Congressional offices help our fellows to network and make valuable professional connections both in Congress and in the greater DC public affairs community.”
NIAF is located in Washington D.C. and promotes Italian culture, and history all over the world. When I was Director of the Italian Festival I never missed attending their Gala which was held in October. It gave me the opportunity to make many contacts which was very helpful for me with the festival. I served on the scholarship committee with Mathilda Coumo who was chairman. I also presented a workshop on Raising Money In Rural Communities.
I encourage any individual who qualifies to pursue this opportunity.
