Mary Patricia Cottrill, 74, of Clarksburg, passed away on August 26, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on October 31, 1951 to the late Clarence Hayhurst and Mary Louisa (Swiger) Hayhurst.
She is survived by two sons: Ronnie Eugene Cottrill and wife Michele of Clarksburg and Bryan Keith Cottrill of Lumberport; one daughter, Patricia Sizemore and husband John of Clarksburg; six grandsons: Ronnie Eugene Cottrill, Jr., Travis Joshua Cottrill, Bryan Keith “Boo” Cottrill, Jr., Christophor William Cottrill, Jaycob Cottrill and Conner Cottrill; three granddaughters: Courtney Paige Lopez and husband Elias of VA, Haylee Marie Amsler and Danielle Jean Amsler; three great-granddaughters: Isabelle Cottrill, Paisley Marie Cottrill and Tianya Cottrill; one great-grandson, Bryan Cottrill, III; one sister, Dolly Mae Smith of CA; one sister-in-law, Alma Hayhurst of Lumberport; one brother-in-law, Jack Cottrill of Lumberport; several nieces and nephews and her loving friends at Glen Elks Apartments, especially her best friend, Jeanie Luzader.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Dale Cottrill; three sisters: Edith Hayhurst, Ruth Main and Joann Cottrill; five brothers: Clarence L. Hayhurst, Jr., Donald P. Hayhurst, James Buster Hayhurst, Johnny Hayhurst and Dwight Hayhurst; one daughter-in-law, Shawn Marie Cottrill; one brother-in-law, George Smith; mother-in-law, Sally Cottrill, who became a second mother to Mary and her father-in-law, William Clarence Cottrill.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Funeral service will be on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Interment to Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
