Shinnston City Clerk Kathleen Panek was in Charleston earlier this week attending the Municipal League Conference. She shared this photo from the Gallery as members of the WV House of Delegates recognized Veterans of West Virginia with a Proclamation during their session on Monday. She noted that West Virginia Veteran Hershel W. “Woody” Williams, who received the Medal of Honor for his gallantry during World War II’s Battle of Iwo Jima, was also in the audience and accepted the Proclamation on behalf of all Veterans.
