Jill Fratto – Life and Health Coach
Everyone is busy. Schedules are packed. Calendars are overflowing with events, invitations, fundraisers, and family gatherings.
As a result, finances can also be stretched. Gifts, fees for children’s activities, tickets, and donations for events…and the list goes on. Most people don’t think anything about all the money and time that gets put into their daily life. The main goal is to keep your head above water and not look like you are about to drown.
Then it happens; you get sick or you look in the mirror one day and realize you have neglected yourself in all of your life’s activities. You justify it because you were taking care of others or helping a community cause. The problem is that everyone loses when you don’t take care of yourself. Eventually, giving everything away and not investing in yourself has a high cost.
You have heard me say things like this before, but have you put any of them into place? Is yours a money or a time issue — or both? Ask yourself the following questions.
- What can I change in my life so that I can invest more in my health?
- Where am I spending too much time that could be spent on something that would contribute to my well- being?
- What am I doing that drains my energy and vitality?
- Are my expenses aligned with my values? Do I purchase items and donate money in ways that merge with my sense of purpose and beliefs?
- What can I do about it? What boundaries need set so that I can take back my energy?
Answering the questions isn’t enough. You must follow through and make the changes in your life that put more life back into your days. Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying, “It’s Not the Years in Your Life That Count. It’s the Life in Your Years.” Don’t wait until you get a wake-up call to make changes that allow you to experience love in all that you do.
Wishing you great health and vitality in all that you do …….
