Big Elm Elementary School celebrated ‘Read Across America’ on Friday, March 3rd. Students had been encouraged to bring new books to school that would be donated to WVU Children’s Hospital in Morgantown.
The Monti Bear mascot from Friends of WVU Hospitals and WVU Medicine visited Big Elm Elementary that day to meet the children and receive their donations. Monti Bear received 1,132 books that day; they will be given to sick children in the hospital at WVU.
This was a great way for the students, faculty and staff at Big Elm to share their love of reading with other children.
