The Class AA All-State selections are out and several Harrison County players made the cut.
The top honor bestowed on a player is to be named captain and that is what Bridgeport’s Drew Hefner was named. Hefner had the numbers to prove that he deserved the honor. He batted .434 with 45 RBI’s and four home runs.
A pair of Hefner’s teammates joined him on the first team. Brayden Lesher and J.T. Harris were also intrical parts of Bridgeport’s championship team. Lesher was 8-1 on the mound this season, including a victory in the championship game. Harris owned a .368 batting average, while stealing 30 bases on the season.
Lincoln standout Kobie Carpenter had an impressive .520 average with 36 RBI’s and 30 stolen bases.
A trio of county players earned second team honors. Lincoln’s Chase Riley, Bridgeport’s Gordon Swiger, and Robert C. Byrd’s Tre Junkins all had impressive seasons.
A sizable group made the special honorable mention list: Bridgeport’s Brine Jakahashi and Cooper Hineman, Lincoln’s Nathanael Thompson and Dustin Marks, Liberty’s Bo Drummond, and Robert C. Bryd’s Cole Kiddy.
Honorable mention selections were Bridgeport’s Koby Kiefer, Liberty’s Andrew Walker, Lincoln’s Hunter Moore, and Robet C. Byrd’s Caden Wetzel.
