On Saturday, March 12, 2025, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 31 gathered at American Legion Post 31, Shinnston to prepare for the annual American Legion Post 31 and American Legion Family (Auxiliary, Sons, and Riders) annual Children’s Easter Party. Easter baskets were filled with candy and other small items for the children and approximately 400 plastic Easter Eggs were filled with candy for the Easter Egg Hunt. The group gathered prior to the party on Sunday, March 13, 2025, to hide Easter Eggs and prepare the snacks for the party which started at 2:00 pm at American Legion Post 31, Shinnston. Carla Wilfong, party organizer, also had crafts and games for the children. The high point of the afternoon was a visit by the Easter Bunny and each child was able to visit with him and have their pictures taken. There were 25 children in attendance.
