Barbara “Bobbie” Lynn Ogden Berry
Barbara “Bobbie” Lynn Ogden Berry, 83, of Sneads Ferry, NC, formerly of Wallace, WV went home to the Lord, while in her daughter’s arms on August 20, 2022, following a long battle with coronary heart disease.
She was born October 27th, 1938, in the Ogden Farmhouse on Big Elk Road in Wallace, WV to the late Lynn and Mildred (Robinson) Ogden. She married the love of her life Fred Berry on June 30,1974.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Berry-Amlotte and husband Bill of Sneads Ferry; her stepson, Terry Berry and wife Vonda of Fairmont, WV; son-in-law, Kevin Arbogast of Shinnston, WV; her grandchildren, Carrissa (Billy) Prine, Angela Arbogast, Bridget (Josh) Pyle, Jake Amlotte, Dalton Amlotte, Kage Rohde, and Jaci Rohde; her grand pups Mack and Lilly; Several Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Hedy Belknap and Joan Mayfield; Sisters-in-law, Gail Berry and Jean Wise; several nieces and nephews; and her adopted family, Ted Jr, Gene, Bart Rogers, Cheryl Dorsey Brogley and their families.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her In-laws, Frank and Nell Berry; stepdaughter, Becky Arbogast; granddaughter, Staci Arbogast; grandson, Devin Langford; brothers-in-law, Dearl Mayfield, Bob Berry and Fred Belknap; and her adopted family Ted and Gwen Rogers and Paul and Genevieve Dorsey.
She Graduated from Wallace High School in 1956 and Fairmont State College in 1960. She taught At Wallace and Lumberport High Schools and then went to work at Hope Gas. She started substitute teaching at Wallace Elementary in 1984 and continued to teach in the Harrison County School system until 2000. Her favorite “job” was working side by side with Fred on the Farm. She was active in Young Republicans and sang in the acapella group Sweet Adalines for many years. She was a member of Wallace United Methodist Church for many years and most recently was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Sneads Ferry. She will always be remembered as a loving child of God with a beautiful smile that touched everyone she met.
