Clarksburg, WV – The Harrison County Chamber of Commerce hosted its latest Business at Breakfast event on Friday, April 4, at the Hilton Garden Inn, sponsored by Advantage Technology. The event featured cybersecurity expert Chris May, Security Director at Advantage Technology, who provided a Cybersecurity Threat & Strategy Update for 2025.
More than 40 business leaders and professionals attended the session, representing a variety of industries. May’s presentation emphasized the growing risks of cyber threats in both business and personal life. According to recent studies, 60% of small businesses close within six months of a cyberattack, and phishing scams account for over 90% of data breaches worldwide. On a personal level, identity theft continues to rise, with over 1.4 million reported cases in the U.S. last year alone.
Programming like this, offered by the Chamber, helps businesses stay informed and prepared against evolving digital threats. By providing access to experts and industry insights, the Chamber ensures that local businesses remain resilient in an increasingly technology-driven world. This event was free to the public, as part of the Chamber’s ongoing investment in the community.
The Harrison County Chamber of Commerce extends its gratitude to Hilton Garden Inn for hosting the event and to R.J. Minardi for providing a great breakfast experience.
