Christopher Lee O’Dell, 49, of Clarksburg, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at his home. He was born September 10, 1975 in Ft. Riley, KS, a son of Carter F. “Odie” O’Dell and his wife Claudia Denise, and his mother, Shelia P. Morrison Romeo and her husband Gary of Shinnston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Bellotte O’Dell, whom he married on August 8, 2008.
Chris is also survived by his children, Kirstein Davis and her husband Gerald of Fairmont; Jared Hustead and his fiancé Emma Devericks of Shinnston; Chandler O’Dell and his wife Dakota of Salem; Jordyn Footman and her husband Kyle of Clarksburg; and Christopher O’Dell II and his fiancé Bella Richards of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Wrenlei Davis; Pierson Davis; Eleanor O’Dell; Aiden Hustead; and Phoenix Footman; his siblings, David O’Dell and his wife Crystal of Wakefield, KS; Louis “L.J.” O’Dell of Fairmont; Megan O’Dell of Idamay; and Carter O’Dell Jr. and his wife Kayla of Shinnston; his mother and father in law, Lola Bellotte of NC; and Jerry Bellotte of Clarksburg; his sister-in-law, Gina Thompson and her husband Richard of NC; his brother-in-law, Tony Bellotte and his wife Willetta of Shinnston; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his fur babies, Daisy and Bear.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Gladys Morrison; James and Glory O’Dell; and Claude and Rose Taylor.
Chris was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He went on to obtain certifications in welding and diesel mechanics. He was formerly employed as a driver at Salerno Brothers, Nuzum, and Payne Trucking companies. He was also employed as a coal miner with Consol and Murray Energy at Robinson Run, Federal #2, and Loveridge Mines. Chris was currently employed with Cleveland Brothers Caterpillar and was in the final steps to starting his own trucking company. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidsons. Chris loved to tinker and was always working on one thing or another. More than anything, Chris loved his family and enjoyed his time with them.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-8pm and on Tuesday, from 11am-1pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 11th, at 1:00pm with Pastor Jim Glaspell officiating. Cremation services will follow.
