Danny Ray O’Dell, 73, of Mannington, passed away on December 25, 2025 at his residence. He was born on January 24, 1952 in Shinnston to the late James Earl O’Dell and Evelyn Ruth (Garrett) O’Dell.
Danny was a self-employed truck driver. He played bass guitar, enjoyed fishing, riding his side by side and spending time with his dogs, “Rose” and “Buddy” and his cat, “Mia.”
He is survived by two daughters: Melissa Dawn Coffman and companion Ricky Stevens of Wyatt; and Renee Stark and husband James of Haywood; two grandsons: Jonathan Coffman and wife Grace of Shinnston and Justin Coffman and companion Jordyn Rowh of Clarksburg; one granddaughter, Carly Duckworth and companion Hale Keener of Haywood; one great granddaughter, Ellayna Coffman of Clarksburg; one sister, Rebecca O’Dell of Shinnston as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Sue (Taylor) O’Dell; one brother, Warren O’Dell and one grandson, Hunter Duckworth.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Monday, December 29, 2025 for visitation from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jeff Stire officiating. Interment to Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
