Desmond William (Bill) Frame

Desmond William (Bill) Frame, 92, of Shinnston, passed away on March 19, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1932, in Ivydale, a son to the late William French Frame and Bonnie Meadows Frame. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers, Darius Greathouse, Arthur Greathouse, Hubert Greathouse, Edward Frame, Ronald Frame, and Roger Frame, and sister Ellen Jane Sanford.

He is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Leona Frame, whom he married on August 5, 1951. He’s also survived by his daughters, Donna L. Howard (Stephen G.), and Frances Frame; grandchildren Heather Howard and Steven W. Howard; sisters Faye Propps (Jennings), Judy Meadows (Tom Jarvis), and Iris Spencer, and brother Jerry Frame (Susie).

Bill served in the United States Army from 1950-1953. He was a Corporal in the 780th Field Artillery Battalion serving in Korea from May 17, 1952 to June 7, 1953.

He worked for Worthington Telephone Service, Sconish Trucking Co., and eventually retired from Nuzum Trucking after 42 years.  He retired from the Shinnston Vol. Fire Dept., and was a current member of United Mine Workers.  Bill was also a member of Victor Chapel Church.

He enjoyed watching racing, doing mechanic work, and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 11:00AM-1:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM with Pastor David Markley and Rev. Brian Plum officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Enterprise.
