Those making Harrison County a Christmas destination this weekend will have much to enjoy doing as the Christmas season settles in.
First, the City of Shinnston will have its traditional seasonal lineup in the late afternoon and evening of Dec 2. It all starts with the Shinnston Christmas Market where a number of vendors and crafts creators will gather to offer a variety of holiday themed wares. Come down to find decorations, food, or even a special something to give to family or friends.
The market opens at 5 PM and closes at 9.
Santa and Mrs. Claus highlight the evening’s parade through downtown Shinnston. Bands and local organizations will put their best Christmas foot forward to show their holiday cheer to the delights of children young and old lining the streets.
After the parade comes two options for enjoyment. The Shinnston Community Band will perform Christmas favorites at the Lighthouse on Rebecca Street at 7:30. Those preferring more serene surroundings can take in the lighted stroll on the rail trail under the bridge between 7 and 9 PM.
