City of Shinnston Proclamation
Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft served many years as a Councilperson for the City of Shinnston, and Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft was elected by the citizens as the first female mayor of the City of Shinnston, and
Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft exhibits a steadfast love for the City of Shinnston and its citizens, and Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft has been an outstanding member of the Shinnston Rebekah’s and has led many award-winning community projects, such as Socks for Veterans, and
Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft through community organizations including the Shinnston Woman’s Club and Shinnston Garden Club has participated in and led countless projects for the betterment of her community, and
Whereas, Wanda Ashcraft continues to uplift citizens by sending clippings, letters and notes of encouragement
NOW THEREFORE: I, Patrick A. Kovalck, Mayor of the City of Shinnston, do hereby proclaim the date of August 11, 2025 as Mayor Wanda Ashcraft Day
