Helen Creak of Shinnston, WV passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2025 with her loving husband, Danny Creak, by her side.

She was born in Fairmont, WV on January 26, 1961 to the late Georgia “Ilene” Rice and Harold Rice. She was also preceded in death by the man who raised her, and who she called “Dad” Kenneth Ora Rice and wife Helen Lucretia Rice, who were also her grandparents who raised her after losing her mom at the young age of 14. Also, preceding her in death are her two brothers, Larry Dale Matheny, and Frankie Stillwell.

She leaves behind her two daughters who here her whole world, Brandy Lanham and husband Larra (James) Bock, and Marcy Snider and husband Rodney Snider.

As well as her grandchildren; Emily Weekly, Reno Swiger (Sharelle Hamilton) JR Swiger, Dayne Bock (Andrew Frye) and her great-granddaughter Wrenleigh Weekly.

She also has her step daughters and their families that she leaves behind; Cierra Creak (Eric Blankenship), Courtney Creak (Freddie Calwell), Kandi and Zach Bokros, Danielle and David Spatafore; and their children Pahton, Joshlynn, and Kohlton Newbrough, Tanner, Marlee and Derrick Blankenship, Emily Creak, Ava, Donzella, Olivia, Selena, Nikko, and Journey Caldwell, Zachary Bokros, Evan and Ashlynn Wildman.

Helen has many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews, plus many cherished friends that she has had throughout her life.

Helen loved spending time with her family most of all! Everything she did was for them! She was a retiree from the USPS service in 2020, where she worked at multiple locations as a postmaster. Her favorite place to get away was to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN, where she went on yearly trips with her family. She enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, and crocheting. Helen was a warrior and an inspiration to all who knew her! Her legacy of strength and resilience will live on forever with those that knew and loved her the most.

In keeping with her wishes, no funeral services will be held. Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston, WV is in charge of fulfilling her final wishes.
