This past week we had the opportunity to attend the ribbon cutting of the Arch Recovery facility which is located in Quiet Dale. The facility is a first of its kind in Harrison County. It is a beautiful facility that will offer services to addicts-on their road to recovery.
Director Lou Ortenzio welcomed those attending and gave a brief outline of the services and goals of Arch Recovery. The facility can offer services to in excess of 150 individuals and is now helping 78 clients. C. W. Dent also spoke to the audience and his position with the facility. Being a recovering addict he offered insight to the journey ahead for those enrolled in the facility.
Speaker Kris Warner, Secretary of State spoke about the facility and the services it offered. Senator Ben Queen offered his perspective on the facility calling it a “bridge” for recovering addicts.
The uncovering and presentation of a plaque memorializing the late Marty Queen was a surprise to the Queen family. The plaque which was designed by Nancy Rush will hang in the reception area of the facility. It is a symbol of the ongoing battle of addicts.
The Queen family encourages individuals to become involved with the center either financially or in a volunteer status. Addiction is a terrible disease and if we can help one person it is worth our effort. It was indeed our pleasure to offer donations in honor of Marty to the Center.
We thank the Center for this wonderful Tribute to “Marty.”
Stay healthy and until next week “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
