For the second straight year, the Lincoln Lady Wildcats basketball team won the girls middle school county title.  They defeated the Braves of Bridgeport Middle School 39-27 at Lincoln High School in Shinnston this past Saturday.

The Wildcats took an early lead and dominated the first quarter of play, but Bridgeport managed to balance things out in the second quarter.  However, the Wildcats were leading at half time 18-11.

After the break, both teams were still scoring bucket for bucket.  Bridgeport managed to score 11 points in the fourth quarter, but Lincoln put 15 more points on the board to clinch the win.

High scorer for Lincoln was Victoria Sturm with 13 points, followed by Ferris with 12, Madi Martin 8, Emily Jett with 4 and Sydney McDougal put in 2.

High scorer for the Bridgeport Braves was Humble with 14 followed by Sarah Haynes with 7.
