James Darl Hewitt, Sr.

James Darl Hewitt, Sr., 70, of Shinnston, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg, August 22, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo A. Hewitt, and his brother, Robert Hewitt.

Surviving are his wife, Chrissie L. Toll Hewitt, whom he married October 20, 1981; three children: James Darl Hewitt, Jr. and his wife Tiffany, Mannington, Lori Hewitt, Enterprise, Shane Hewitt and his companion Veronica, Clarkburg; seven grandchildren: Brooklyn Rose Hewitt, Jace Weaver, Caden Weaver, Dalton Weaver, Adia Hewitt, Clay Hewitt, Jamison Hewitt; two sisters, Judy Lee Champ and Leoda Summer, and several nieces and nephews.

James was a former member of the Lumberport Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and guns. He also enjoyed spending time with his Casey’s family in Shinnston.

Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike Street, Shinnston, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Clark officiating.
