Lucille Ina “Lucy” Butcher, age 86, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born on October 4, 1930, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Laley Gale and Gertrude Edith (Bowers) Duckworth.
Ms. Butcher is survived by four children: Robyn K. Butcher of Adamston; Jeffrey Lee Butcher of Clarksburg; Dana Frederick Butcher and wife Gloria of Clarksburg; and Joni Vanessa Sellers and husband Paul of Clarksburg; one brother, Laley Gale “Bud” Duckworth of Clarksburg; one sister, Shirley Loomis and husband Robert of OH; seven grandchildren: Brian Butcher; Adam Sabatelli; Susan Golden; Chase Matthew Butcher; Vanessa Marie Sellers Ford; Kaitlyn Nicole Sellers; and Braden Kyle Sellers. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Lee Butcher, on July 31, 2000; three siblings: Georgie Mangelo; Faye Ballsworth; and Ruth Kulick.
Lucy was a homemaker most of her life, but enjoyed working and volunteering at the election polls. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking, and was an avid Mountaineer football fan. Lucy liked sitting on her porch watching the neighborhood, and loved spending time with her grandkids.
