‘‘Twas the days before Christmas and all through the house……”. Just what is happening at your house as we enter into the final days before Christmas. If it is not done, it will not get done. It is up to you to say enough is enough. Now we start to over do and all that happens is we become stressed and we set a path to stress out our enjoyment of the holiday.
The important part now is, first of all, step back and get some rest so that you can get done what you planned. A tired individual cannot enjoy those loved ones who have gathered to celebrate the holiday . You will become irritable and it will rub off on others. Now is the time to set a goal with the important part being to concentrate on loving your family and friends. Honestly they will never know if you only made two kinds of cookies instead of three, they will never know if you did not hang all the decorations in the family room or if the gifts have been placed in bags instead of wrapped. Now all of these are your secret with yourself.
Be considerate of members who have to share their time. Be thankful for the time they spend with you.
The last holiday get together will probably be the Christmas Day meal. I suggest you have a buffet and let individuals eat as they come and go. Sometimes it is impossible to adhere to a strict time schedule.Your turkey, ham, dressing, sweet potatoes and all the extras are set out so that individuals can enjoy the meal at their own pace. Do not be selfish by demanding they stick to your schedule.
Remember there are those who will not have anyone to share the day with. Be thankful that you do.
The Queens will be gathered to enjoy the Pitas that Marty and I made, they will be tasting those mushrooms that nave been prepared for our meal and they will be enjoying our two newest members Arthur and Payton.
May you be blessed with a holy and happy Christmas and from our family to yours Merry Christmas.
Stay healthy and happy and until next year “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
