Mrs. Carma Kathleen Mayle McGinnis, 93, of Shalimar, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully under the tender care of Emerald Coast Hospice on December 24, 2025, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born on March 14, 1932, in Oakland, Maryland, the daughter of Ernest and Nettie Beryl Mayle.

Carma devoted her life to her family and home, embracing her role as a homemaker with grace and dedication. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and found joy in the creative arts of quilt making, sewing, and cooking. In her leisure time, she loved reading, working through word search puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune, a daily comfort she rarely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George W. McGinnis; her sisters Goldie Ellen Mayle, Lee Esta Mayle Loss, Donna Jean Mayle Greene; and sons Dale McGinnis and Freddie McGinnis.

Carma is survived by her sister, Viola (Lindsey) Blare of Shinnston, WV, children Evelyn Cross of Moundsville, WV, Donald (Christy) McGinnis of New Martinsville, WV, Debbie (Bob) Helmic of Shalimar, FL, and Tim (Linda) McGinnis of Proctor, WV; and her daughters in law Linda McGinnis and Johanna McGinnis of Paden City, WV. She also leaves behind three generations of grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carma will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her creativity, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

A celebration of Carma’s life will be held Friday January 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S Pike St. Shinnston, WV. Family will receive visitors an hour before service, and the internment will take place at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum immediately following the service. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the McGinnis family.
