The 2025 GFWC WV North Central District Annual Spring Workshop was held in Shinnston on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Shinnston Woman’s Club House. Woman’s Club Members from the Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Mountaineer, Fairmont, Shinnston and North Central Junior Alumnae Clubs attended. Shinnston Co-President Mary Ann Ferris introduced Mayor Pat Kovalak who welcomed the visitors to Shinnston and complimented the group on the work the Woman’s Clubs do in their communities.

North Central District President Barbara Wilburn presided and made many announcements concerning district and state level projects. Tressa Wolfe presented a quiz, uncovering the motives of why the women got involved in Club work and turned the answers into a very effective leadership workshop.

Dr. Mark Povroznik United Hospital Center, Vice-President of Quality and Safety, presented a program on measles, the current outbreaks and prevention. He concluded with stroke awareness and gave each attendee a calendar refrigerator magnet with the signs of a stroke imprinted on it.

The group enjoyed a continental breakfast featuring “fritties” from Saint Ann’s and a catered lunch of stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans.
