Although the groundhog said we should expect more winter weather, Shinnston is nevertheless looking ahead to carrying on with its scheduled Spring events!
Green Day 5K, March 18: Over the past few years Shinnston has played host to the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, during which nearly 1,000 participants took part in 2016. In an effort to continue the momentum, the Lincoln High School Track team will be holding the first ever Green Day 5K on March 18. The St. Patrick’s Day themed race will begin at the Trail Head on Pike Street and utilize a portion of the West Fork River Trail.
7th Annual Shinnston Arts & Crafts Festival, April 22: The City of Shinnston, along with the Shinnston Development Authority, will be hosting the Seventh Annual Arts & Crafts Festival. Artisans from around the state will be showcasing their artwork and craft items in Downtown Shinnston from 10 am – 3 pm. Look for them to be set up behind the Bice-Ferguson Memorial Museum.
Bike Rodeo, May 13: In conjunction with Harrison Rail Trails, Inc. and the Shinnston Police Department, The City of Shinnston will be holding the annual Bike Rodeo at a new location. Join us on the West Fork River Trail as children will have the opportunity to test their skills and improve bicycle safety.
