Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Riley M. Moore is joining eight of his freshmen House colleagues for a trip to the U.S. – Mexico border. The visit is being led by Representative Juan Ciscomani of Arizona.
The delegation is expected to tour the Nogales Port of Entry, inspect the border wall, and discuss the comprehensive efforts by the Trump Administration to secure the border with officials on the ground.
“President Trump made it clear that on day one he would close the border and Make America Safe Again. And since the President took office, illegal border crossings have dropped 92.7%. Turns out all we needed was a new President,” said Congressman Riley M. Moore.
“But now it’s Congress’ job to ensure the President and his administration have all the resources and tools necessary to keep the border secure and stop the flow of deadly fentanyl – a scourge that’s killed thousands upon thousands in my home state. I want to thank Rep. Ciscomani for organizing this border trip to ensure the freshman class knows exactly what is required to keep our promises to the American people.”
“House Republicans were elected on the promise to secure the southern border, and that is exactly what we will continue to deliver,” said Rep. Ciscomani.
“As Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, I am immensely proud to lead a group of freshman members to the Arizona-Mexico border, where we will hear from law enforcement on the frontline about the challenges they face and the resources they need to keep our communities safe and our border secure.”
