Rest in peace Walt Helmick. West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture, State Senator, and Pocahontas County Commissioner. Helmick was one of the last of the “old school” of Mountain State politics. He was a legendary story-teller known also for modernizing the policies and processes of the office of Commissioner of Agriculture.
