Richard Eugene Wolfe

Richard Eugene Wolfe, 70, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born September 9, 1953 in Fairmont, a son of the late James and Hallie Virginia Roderick Wolfe.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita “Dee” McDonald Wolfe, whom he married February 17, 1995. He is also survived by his daughter, Eraina Gower and her husband Douglas of Grant Town; his step-daughter, Melissa Stephenson and her husband Troy of Manley Chapel; his grandchildren, Alexx Gower and his wife Clarissa of Glovers Gap; Jacob Gower of St. Albans; and Laken Stephenson of Manley Chapel; his brother, Gary Wolfe of Fairmont; as well as several nieces and nephews, and brother and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Gower; his brothers, James; Robert; and David Wolfe; his mother-in-law, Gay McDonald; his former spouse, Betty Lou Gorbey; as well as his best friends, Harry Dunbar; Dave Offutt; and James Stewart.

Richard was employed as a truck driver for several companies including PJAX of Mt. Morris and FedEx Freight of Clarksburg. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of the Chapter I Motorcycle Club of Morgantown. Richard enjoyed traveling on his Harley Davidson and Goldwing Trike to local attractions like Cool Springs as well as long distance trips to Daytona Bike Week and Key West, FL. These trips usually included his niece and nephew, Brenda and Barry Ayers and his friends, Big Rick Hanish as well as, Don and Sis Whyel. He will be missed by all his friends at the East Side McDonalds and Mom’s Place in Fairmont. He attended and was very involved in Winfield Church.

Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Tuesday from 2-8pm and on Wednesday from 11am – 1pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 7th, at 1:00pm with Pastors Randy Vincent and Bill Masters officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.perinefunerals.com
