Roberta Jean Swiger, 74, of Clarksburg, formerly of Lumberport, went to be with her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her parents and siblings on January 7, 2025, following nearly a year long battle with her health.

Roberta is the daughter of the late Robert G Swiger, Sr. and Laura M. Marshall Swiger. She was preceded in death by her only sister Rhonda Skelly, her only brother Robert G. (Bobby) Swiger Jr. and 2 very special cousins Kenneth and Delores Sisler.

Roberta is survived by her sister-in-law, Cathy Swiger; two nieces, Anna Lucas and companion Chad Matthews of Clarksburg, Cari Womeldorff and Alan of Clarksburg; two nephews, Michael Skelly of Lumberport, Robert (Robbie) Swiger, III and Jennifer of Clarksburg; three great nieces, Maddison Cutright and Samuel of Buckhannon, Kylie Lowe and Gary of Jarvisville, Kelsi Cantarelli and Richie of Clarksburg; four great nephews, Mason Shreves of Clarksburg, Zach Womeldorff and Gracie of Lake Floyd, Glen Shaffer and Sammy Spinks, of Clarksburg and her fiancée Tim Feathers of Clarksburg. She had several great great nieces and nephews.

Roberta worked many years for Dr. Gasataya and his family. The Gasataya family became her family. She also was a caregiver after her retirement.

Roberta last attended Centerbranch Church for several years and she displayed her love for Jesus to the many she came in touch with and she shared how much she truly loved the trip she made to the Holy Land with her Uncle Bud Marshall. Roberta also had the best connection to past events and family, and you could always count on her to tell a story.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Bridgeport Healthcare, United Hospital Center and Fresenius Dialysis Center.

Friends will be received at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 2pm, Friday, January 10, with Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Lumberport Lion’s Club Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Swiger family.
