Roger Lee Cain, 68, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the United Hospital Center.
He was born in Clarksburg, September 15, 1948, a son of the late Roy E. Cain and the late Mildred Humphrey Cain Dodd. On April 11, 1967, he married Patricia Shears Cain, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2014.
Surviving are four children, Kimberly Williams and her husband Bruce, Stonewood, Heather Lucas and her husband Jim, West Milford, Roger “Andy” Cain and his wife Jessica, Shinnston, and Ryan Cain, Clarksburg. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Brock and Briar Williams, MacKenzie and Kimbree Lucas, Brooklynn and Gracie Chidester, and Harley, Hunter, Kamryn, and Luke Cain; brothers and sisters, Mavis Johnson, Clarksburg, Raymond Cain, Laurel Valley, Carol Keavney, Jarvisville, Sandra Richards, Fairmont, Pam Taber, Jarvisville, and Robert “Bobby” Dodd, Laurel Valley; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family whom he loved dearly, Roger and Claudia Hardy, Clarksburg.
He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Marie Swiger, Betty Stanley, Patricia Findley Stalnaker, Roy E. Cain, Jr., Ruth Ellen Cain, Freda Riley, and Rita “Elaine” Currey.
Roger worked in construction and as a crane operator for the WV Department of Highways. He was also a lifelong carpenter. He enjoyed his family, his grandchildren, family dinners, good jokes, country rides and listening to his son’s bands, Catch A Wave and Ryan Cain and the Ables, through the years. He was a great dad to his four children and a wonderful grandfather who will be deeply missed.
